The San-o-Sub Dual Outlet 232 Bar Isolation Manifold is designed and manufactured in Italy for long life and heavy use. The manifold consists of left and right San-o-Sub 232 bar DIN/K modular valves, with your choice of three different width manifold isolation crossbars offering 150 mm (5.9 inch), 192 mm (7.6 inch) or 212 mm (8.4 inch) adjustable centre-to-centre spacing.

You are ready to get a set of doubles and need a durable, high flow, convertible, isolation manifold. The San-o-Sub Dual Outlet 232 Bar Manifold with Isolation crossbar is the one you need. San-o-Sub has always been known to make one of the most durable, high flow valves systems on the market and they have proven to do it again with this Isolation Manifold.

The valve has the shorter 200 bar, female DIN connection with 5 threads to connect your first stage DIN scuba regulator. The valve regulator connection comes complete with a threaded DIN to Yoke insert, which means it can equally be used for both INT bracket (Yoke) or DIN regulator connections. Use an 8 mm Allen key to take the insert out or put it in.

The valve has a standard 3/4-inchx14 NPSM (NGS) parallel thread to fit the cylinder neck thread of most Australian Standard aluminium and steel tanks/cylinders/bottles. It has a 60° thread form, a pitch diameter of 0.9820 to 0.9873 in (24.94 to 25.08 mm), and a pitch of 14 threads per inch (5.5 threads per cm).

WARNING: Please ensure that you are fitting the valve to a cylinder with a matching thread. Getting it wrong is extremely dangerous.

The valves include a nearly indestructible handwheel formed around a stainless steel insert. The stainless steel insert ensures positive operation with a long-lasting life. The large ribs make it easy to open or close the valve even while wearing gloves.

The manifold isolation cross bars incorporate triple O-ring seal torroidal connections known for their robust reliability, and are available in three different width adjustable centre-to-centre spacings:

  • 150 mm (5.9 inch) centre to suit 5 and 7 litre, 140 mm (5.5 inch) diameter, cylinders (CYLMA1)
  • 192 mm (7.6 inch) centre to suit 9, 10.5 and 12.2 standard litre, 178 mm (7 inch) diameter, cylinders (CYLMA2)
  • 212 mm (8.4 inch) centre to suit 12.2 compact, 15 and 18 litre, 204 mm (8 inch) diameter, cylinders (CYLMA3)

The manifold is Nitrox ready up to 40% oxygen, bagged from the factory with EPDM O-rings for immediate use with enriched air equipment.

Precision machined from high-quality marine brass, the manifold will give years of service and corrosion-free operation.

Manifold Oxygen Cleaning:

This manifold is Nitrox ready up to 40%. If you are planning to use this manifold on cylinders with Enriched Air Nitrox (Nitrox) mixes from more than 40% up to 100% oxygen, it's essential for the safety of the twin-cylinder user, and the person filling the cylinders, that the manifold be oxygen cleaned and prepared with special O-rings, seats, and grease designed for exposure to pure oxygen. The cylinders should then be banded with the familiar yellow and green Nitrox band/wrap/sticker, and an Oxygen Clean 'In Test' inspection sticker applied. The Scuba Doctor can do all of this for you as an add-on service.

Regulator Fittings and Scuba Valves

The Deutsches Institut Für Normung (DIN) is a German standards setting organisation. DIN 477 is a specification that recommends cylinder valve outlet and connector designs for specific types of gases and pressures based upon safety considerations. These various designs have deliberate incompatibilities to preclude the possibility of errors when handling different types of compressed gases at differing working pressures. The two valve outlets and connectors of interest for divers are the DIN 477 No. 13 and the DIN 477 No. 56 (formerly No. 50), both designated for use with compressed air.

The DIN 477 scuba valve outlet and regulator fittings are now the standard in Europe and are widely used by technical divers worldwide. Their thread form is also sometimes referred to as G 5/8" BSP. The regulator first stage DIN connector is a male screw type, and instead of clamping onto the outside of the valve as does the yoke, it screws directly into the female DIN outlet of the valve. The sealing O-ring is held at the end of the regulator connector rather than in the face of the outlet. The DIN 477 system, with its captured O-ring design, has proven to be very reliable for use with scuba gear.

Outlet/Connector #13 is from DIN 477 part 1, for cylinders with test pressure ratings up to 300 bar, and is commonly referred to in the dive industry by the slang term "200 bar", because most European and Australian dive cylinders with 300 bar test pressures have working pressures in the 200 bar range. The shorter 200 bar DIN connections have 5 threads.

Outlet/Connector #56 is from DIN 477 part 5, for cylinders with test pressure ratings up to 450 bar, and is commonly referred to in the dive industry by the slang term "300 bar", because most European and Australian dive cylinders with 450 bar test pressures have working pressures in the 300 bar range. The longer 300 bar DIN connections have 7 threads.

The two designs are nearly identical, but the 300 bar, #56 valve outlet is deliberately deeper with 7 threads so the shorter 200 bar, #13 connector with 5 threads will not be long enough to seat properly. This is a safety feature to prevent connecting a low-pressure device to a high-pressure supply. It's important to understand that the "200 bar" or "300 bar" descriptions are just slang terms that have nothing to do with the pressure ratings of the outlets and connectors themselves!
