A snorkel vest is an integral part of your snorkelling equipment. With water being 800 times denser than air, snorkeling requires a bit more energy and you don't realise it because you are so enthralled in what you are seeing. The snorkelling vest allows you to rest, relax and recover if you get tired. Ideally it is worn deflated but some people prefer to have a little air in it to off set any negative buoyancy.
